Working out of the Doral Branch
“I have been in the tile business my entire working life working for Daltile and American Olean from 1992 through 2008. My responsibilities there included sales, customer service, export sales, international accounts and working with the architectural reps.
“Following that, I took a few years off and reentered the industry here at D&B in August of this year. I'm working the counter again and love it. I see a lot of my old customers. This is my first experience working with a distributor. The transition is interesting but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Right now is a great time to be in the business. The market is definitely improving. We are seeing a lot of homeowners and contractors who simply stopped work on projects during the recession.
“During that time, many homeowners were only looking for inexpensive tiles. They weren't interested in higher-end products. They are trending toward more American-made tiles with higher quality and better selection. D&B is positioned well for this since we focus on customer education and offer a complete showroom experience for them.
“The sales staff here is well-trained and bilingual. We know how to service our customers and can answer their most technical questions. Customers come here because of our quality, selection, pricing and industry knowledge. We are constantly updating our inventory and customers understand that. Saturdays in this store are amazing. You would not believe the amount of traffic we have. I'm so glad to be back in the industry and especially proud to be part of the D&B team. We have the selection, the right mix of products and know how to service our customers. I'm looking forward to a bright future here with D&B.
