Christine Lee’s Restaurant at Gulfstream Village Remodels New Location

The Village at Gulfstream Park not only has the premier thoroughbred track in the state of Florida, it is also home to an upscale shopping plaza with trendy shops, modern eateries, a casino and active nightlife. One of the prime restaurants at the Village is Christine Lee’s, a trendy Pan-Asian restaurant now located on the ground level. According to Mary Lee, owner, “We were upstairs on the third level for 11 years and the owners wanted our space. They offered me a corner location on the ground level and we’ve been very happy with our new location and our entirely new look. We did a complete tearout of the existing space and installed new tile from D&B Tile Distributors throughout most of the restaurant and one of the restrooms. “I worked with Richard Favreau, a member of the management team at D&B Tile. I’ve known Richard since he was a teenager. He worked at our coffee shop. We have kept in contact for the past 40 years and when I was ready to move, I asked him for help with our tile requirements. “Our salesperson at the D&B Tile Design Studio Hollywood store was Anaysi Pernia. She was very helpful and continued her follow-up during the progress of the job. We used 24x24 white marble look tile throughout the restaurant area and Atlas Concorde 16x32 Blade White Matt tile in the bathroom. This tile has the wave look, which I love. “I also needed new granite countertops. Richard recommended Stonewater Kitchens, an Associate Partner with D&B Tile and a tenant in their Pompano Beach location. They were very helpful in making granite selections. I’m very pleased with the way it turned out and would recommend them as well. It was a good experience to have that all handled through D&B Tile and one of their Associate Partners. “I wanted a light-colored tile and one that would stand up to heavy foot traffic, be easy to clean and with a non-slip surface. This tile also has very small grout lines, which makes it easier to maintain and keep clean. I wasn’t brand conscious and relied on Richard and Anaysi to offer suggestions. Everything turned out well and we have had favorable comments from many customers. “Gulfstream Village is still under construction A hotel is in the works, along with a movie theater and possibly a large grocery chain. This is a destination venue with many attractions. The owners allowed me to have 37 TVs inside and out, three self betting machines and a live clerk on duty. It makes customers comfortable and likely to stay longer by being able to bet and watch the races while they dine. To see these and many other selections of tile, marble and stone, visit any of D&B Tile Distributors' locations throughout South Florida. Remember that the first step to beautiful design is stepping into D&B Tile. Photographs and article by G. Richard Booth
