Laminam by Crossville, Rebranded to Be Known as Crossville Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels

Well-known for their long term commitment to continuing education within the tile, marble and stone industry- D&B Tile Distributors hosted yet another training program for installer education for the proper installation of gauged porcelain tile panels. Attending installers actively involved in the class graduated with pre-qualification status upon program completion. During the presentation, Doug Ingham-Crossville’s Southern Divisional Sales Manager-announced a rebranding effort for all Crossville supplied gauged porcelain panels formerly known as Laminam. These 1 meter X 3-meter panels have achieved meteoric acceptance in the international construction world hence a rebranding strategy running in concert with installation clinics being conducted nationwide. It was easy to understand the excitement surrounding this impending category but we realized that what was visually exciting would not end well if we didn’t help organize an effort to develop standards for the product and successful installation techniques. “We’re here today to support installation training for Crossville gauged porcelain panels formerly known as Laminam. The name change has to do with other similar products coming to market thus a re-branding to try to limit the potential of confusion in the market. We, as a manufacturer and supplier to the tile industry, work very closely with the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) and support industry efforts for the adoption of standards for both the production and installation of all sorts of ceramic products including panels.” Training at this event was supported by Crossville and D&B Tile. It was conducted by Laticrete’s Gauged porcelain training team and geared toward installation contractors. This one-day commitment was designed to teach installers the how, what and why’s of panel installation and through classroom and hands-on training prepare these informed installers how to successfully go about installing this very important product on both walls and floor applications. Using Laticrete’s installation system of products including 257 Titanium, Permacolor Select grout and Latasil perimeter joint sealant can provide customers with a 25-year Installation System Warranty.
