Atlas Marvel Line from D&B Complements Delray Beach Home Remodeling Project

When Chuck and Rikki Schorr moved to South Florida from Long Island, NY in 2013, they had a good idea what they were looking for in a home . . . they saw one that had literally been on the market for 10 minutes, liked what they saw and made an offer. It was accepted and, as they say, the rest is history. “Four years later, I finally convinced Chuck it was time to remodel to suit our needs and tastes. We had a mix of carpet and tile in the home and wanted to replace the carpet in the bedrooms, closets, great room and office with a porcelain tile that would match the existing tile,” said Rikki Schorr. “One of our neighbors in the community recommended D&B Tile and specifically D&B Tile of Delray. When we arrived there, we met Zsak Vincente who spent a great deal of time with us explaining the different brands and sizes of tile to fit our needs. We walked up and down the aisles in the store with tile samples from our home and found exactly what we needed with the Atlas Marvel line of 24x24 rectified porcelain tiles. “Before going to D&B, we visited a number of model homes in the area to get an idea on sizes, shapes, colors and textures of what was being used. We wanted a large format tile to minimize the grout lines but wanted a different look. It was mostly about matching the color of the existing tile. We liked the 24x24 tiles and Atlas Concorde offered a beautiful line with many options,” said Chuck. “Zsak gave us a list of recommended tile contractors. We interviewed a number of them and settled on GGL Construction for the job. We worked mostly with Greg Labbad. It is a family-owned business and his brother Gavin and father George were on the job with him every day. They were extremely easy to work with and did a wonderful job. We would recommend them, and of course D&B Tile to anyone without hesitation. “They were extremely detail-oriented and very precise in working with the existing built-in features such as the desk and cabinets in the home office. They kept the area clean and uncluttered and worked quickly to complete the job. “Rikki was the design consultant. She had a vision for the house, which was for a minimalist and uncluttered look. We couldn’t be happier with the entire project.” Marvel by the Italian brand Atlas Concorde is a state-of-the-art project that embraces porcelain stoneware for flooring and coordinating white-body tile for facing. The tile patterns render the noble veining of the Italian marble grades. Marvel is available in two finishes: polished and matte. The polished mirror-like surface has miniature irregularities, characteristic of natural marble, while the matte one fits for the most demanding applications, where excellent performance is a must. The large tile sizes enhance the similarity with natural stone. In addition to its plant in Modena, Italy, Atlas Concorde has facilities in Franklin, TN, Moscow, Russia and Paris, France. D&B Tile Distributors is a 50-year-old family-owned company with nine convenient locations throughout South Florida.
