Barky Pines Animal Rescue Brings Pups New Digs with Tile from D&B Tile

Puppy1Working to rescue animals is no easy task. It takes a team of truly passionate and dedicated people, a large space for animals to live comfortably, loving care, and lots of supplies. Recently we received a call from Mary at Barky Pines Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, who told us about their new pet sanctuary project in Loxahatchee and we couldn’t have been more excited to see how D&B Tile could help.

Barky Pines was originally established in March of 2015 with the goal of rescuing unwanted, special needs, and senior dogs from local county shelters. Today, they are building out a six-acre facility that will house over 100 dogs in a unique environment that feels more like home than a shelter.

“Last year we were lucky to receive a donation for a new shed that houses dogs and D&B Tile stepped in to donate porcelain tile for the floor of that shed. We were so grateful to have a beautiful space that was easy to maintain,” said Mary. “That shed was home to a sick, pregnant mama pup that gave birth to nine healthy babies. They had a home thanks to these wonderful donations.”

Puppy2Now Barky Pines is expanding and adding more sheds to their new, six-acre property and D&B Tile is happily donating more tile. “We’re so touched that we have the opportunity to contribute to new homes for animals in need,” said Wendy Ready, Branch Manager for D&B Tile. “Providing porcelain tile for the sheds is only a small part in the effort of finding these dogs forever homes, but at least we can give them comfort while they wait.”

Expected to be complete in the Spring of next year, Barky Pines is excited to be able to expand their effort of saving animals from the local county shelters. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or even turtles, Barky Pines will be home to more animals in need and will work to find each of them loving homes.
