“I grew up in the Tile Industry. As a child my father Dave Yarborough was a Tile Contractor. Dad and Mom, (Betty) started D&B Tile Distributors in 1972. My first job was at Tavernier Tile Supply in the Florida Keys. In 1977 I moved north from the Keys to South Dade County where we opened D&B Tile South, and now are known as D&B Tile Palmetto Bay.
“I married Ron Bell In 1978. We have a son Joel, a daughter Katrina and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
“Dad always encouraged his employees to stay educated and up to date within our industry. D&B Tile was one of the founding members of CTDA, (Ceramic Tile Distributors Association) an international association dedicated to education and networking in our industry. D&B has continued to stay very active in the CTDA. I served on several committees and was on the Board of Directors for six years. I was president of that organization in 2005.
“The CTDA has developed several employee training programs for our industry. We use these training programs within our company with great success. I continue to enjoy being the instructor for these classes. After more than 30 years, I still love coming to work, interacting with the customers and the D&B team members.”
