“I served in the US Marine Corps and spent three years in Jacksonville, NC and one year overseas in Japan. I was in aircraft firefighting and rescue. After leaving the service, I spent 17 years in management with Service America. I found out about D&B while doing a job search online. I just finished a few months of extensive training with D&B which was very helpful. I learned so much about the tile industry in such a short time.
“I'm very impressed with the amount of tile business here in South Florida. We get a tremendous amount of foot traffic in our tile store on a daily basis and most are homeowners rather than commercial customers. Coming from an entirely different industry, I find the tile business to be extremely interesting. All our stores offer a wide selection of products from around the world. When a customer walks through the door, I feel comfortable in the knowledge that we will have what they are looking for.
“I'm very impressed to be able to work for a company with such unique name recognition. D&B has been around for 50 years and their reputation is second to none. It makes our jobs so much easier to have that behind us when we are dealing with customers. The single biggest factor in making the sale is the reputation of the company. Everyone knows who we are and that we stand behind our products. I'm learning about the continuing education D&B provides for their staff and their contractors. I have attended a few workshops and really appreciate how everyone strives to keep up with the latest products and materials. When our customers walk in the door, I feel comfortable knowing that the sales staff can direct them to the best product and materials for the job they are planning. That means a lot in this business.
“I've lived in Broward county for the past 18 years. I have a 19-year-old daughter who is studying to become a dental hygienist and a new baby on the way. My daughter and I were in school together at Broward Community College until last semester. I had to take a break for a bit to get myself settled here. I am pursuing a degree there in business administration. I am looking forward to a long career with D&B.”
