When former D&B Tile partner George Apakian decided to retire he purchased a condo overlooking a lake at Kings Point in Tamarac. It wasn’t long before he became involved in the community and specifically in building/remodeling projects.
Building Condo President Greg Jaffe conferred with George on a project to upgrade the outdoor foyer to their building. It needed a cleaning and reseal of the pavers and something to improve the overall appearance. They decided to visit the Sawgrass location of D&B Tile Distributors.
According to George, “Greg had purchased tiles a few years back from D&B and was pleased with the experience. He realized that I had been part of D&B. We decided to visit the D&B Sawgrass location and see what was available. Greg’s wife Gail accompanied us.”
“We were looking for a large format tile. We settled on an 18x36 polished porcelain. This tile had all the appearances of marble but with none of the costly maintenance requirements,” according to Condo President Greg Jaffe.
“Next, we had to find a contractor. We heard about installations in other buildings done by ACP Construction. We visited the installations and spoke with condo officials to learn about their experience with the company. We discovered that ACP Construction, headed by Antonio Correal, had been doing the tile work in several other buildings. All the references were good
and the quality of workmanship was excellent. He was retained to do the job."

When it became obvious that the pavers needed to be cleaned and resealed, George turned to a long-time contractor friend with National Floor Solutions.
