Marvel World

These three series are just the latest in the broader set of Marvel World. Atlas Concorde’s Marvel World set is designed to showcase the full range of possibilities that come with marble-look tile.

Marvel Gala

Marvel Gala is a tile that’s designed to catch eyes. This series is inspired by nature’s beauty, taking a look at some of the natural wonders of the world and bringing them to your property.

Borders weren’t a limitation when designing these tiles. In fact, they pull inspiration from all over the world: everything from Iceland volcanoes to the California desert served as an inspiration.

Here are the fives tiles, each of which has a distinct look and personality:

  • Crystal White
  • Desert Soul
  • Exotic Green
  • Amazzonite
  • Calacatta Black

Here you can see some of the areas where this tile has been used successfully already. Please note that they come as both regular-sized tiles and XL tiles.

Marvel X

Marvel X is an everyday tile designed to make contemporary living a little more elegant. It’s inspired by the most popular marble in use today and pulls from current design trends to create a fresh-but-timeless aesthetic.

There are five products in this line:

  • Calacatta Apuano – This tile is designed to resemble the marble quarried in the Apuan Alps, which is often referred to as “Calacatta Michelangelo.”
  • Calacatta Sublime – Like Calacatta Apuano, Calacatta Sublime is designed to resemble the marble quarried in Calacatta Michelangelo.
  • Calacatta Perla – This light, pearly gray tile is designed to resemble a stone that can be found in Brazil.
  • Grey Cloud – This tile is designed to resemble quartzite, another stone that can be found in Brazil.
  • Fior Di Bosco – This deep gray tile is designed to resemble the Tuscan Fior di Bosco marble.

These tiles can be used both inside and outside. They come with either matte or hammered finishes. You can see examples of some of the spaces that Marvel X has transformed here.

Marvel Travertine

Inspired by the beauty of travertine, Atlas Concorde teamed up with Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) to create a rich series of travertine-look porcelain tile.

One of the main advantages of the Marvel Travertine series is its ability to replicate the natural variations and textures of real travertine. The tiles feature a range of patterns and veining that give them a realistic, organic look and feel. The tiles are also available in a range of finishes, from matte to polished, to further enhance the natural appearance of the material.

Overall, the Marvel Travertine series is a great choice for anyone who wants to achieve the natural beauty and elegance of travertine without the maintenance and upkeep required by natural stone. With its high-quality materials, realistic design, and practical features, it is a top choice for designers, architects, and homeowners alike.

The line includes:

  • White Vein
  • Sand Vein
  • Pearl Vein
  • White Cross
  • Sand Cross
  • Pearl Cross

These tiles are available as indoor tiles, outdoor tiles, and XL tiles.

Marvel Series FAQ

What Makes Atlas Concorde Tile Special?

Atlas Concorde is known throughout the world for creating some of the most beautiful, cutting-edge ceramic in the world.

We’ve discussed before the innovations coming from them, which include things like Natura-Vein™, a technique that helps give ceramic more realistic veins like you would find in marble.

They also offer a wide range of potential styles. The Marvel set itself has been around for over 10 years, and in that time there have been 10 different series of products created:

  • Marvel
  • Marvel Dream
  • Marvel Edge
  • Marvel Gala
  • Marvel Gems
  • Marvel Pro
  • Marvel Shine
  • Marvel Stone
  • Marvel Travertine
  • Marvel X

This is and of itself represents a wide range of choice to choose from. That said, along with marble-look, Atlas Concorde also offers stone-look tiles, concrete-look tiles, wood-look tiles, metal-look tiles, and more.

How Do I Choose Which Color or Shade of Tile to Get?

Some homeowners have difficulty determining the color or shade of tile they want in their home. If you don’t have a vision, a good first step is getting inspiration.

For this, you might choose to look at buildings that you find visually appealing, or even take a look at the various Colors of the Year put out by organizations like Pantone.

If you’re renovating an existing room, or you already feel confident about other elements you would like to include in a space, it’s a good idea to consider whether you’d like your tile to compliment or contrast with those elements.

When in doubt, it’s a good idea to speak with an interior designer or a tile expert. They can help you understand your various options and refine your vision into something you’ll be happy to look at for years to come.

What Size Tile Should I Get When Purchasing from the Marvel Series?

Marvel tiles are available in both regular and XL sizes. XL tile has become increasingly popular because it minimizes the amount of grout in a tiled space, which reduces the amount of maintenance required while also creating a stunning look.

That said, XL tile isn’t right for all spaces. If a space is small, XL tile can make it look smaller. Additionally, XL tile can be a problem on uneven surfaces.

If you’re unsure whether you would be better off purchasing regular or XL tile, it’s a good idea to speak with either an interior designer or a tile expert.

Why Do Designers Love the Marble Look?

As we’ve previously discussed on this blog, marble can be a difficult material to work with. It’s porous, which means that it needs upkeep and can be susceptible to wear-and-tear. This is especially true in rooms that feature running water, such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Porcelain, on the other hand, is an extremely durable material. When it’s created, it’s heated at very high temperatures, which allows it to be resistant to many things, including:

  • Moisture
  • Heat
  • Bacteria
  • Dirt

While all of these traits already make it an excellent choice for a range of projects, what really seals the deal is the fact that it can be made to look like a variety of different kinds of materials. These designs can be printed on the glaze, meaning that porcelain can look like wood, natural stone, or anything else you can imagine.

Atlas Concorde takes marble look tile and turns it into an art. As a company, it’s especially focused on ensuring that the marble looks realistic, which means ensuring the veins are properly placed and combining the elegance of marble with the practicality of porcelain.

Why Do Designers Love Travertine-Look Tile?

Travertine is a type of natural stone that is popular in the construction and design industry. It is quarried from the mountainous regions of Turkey, and it is known for its beauty, versatility, and classic appeal.

One of the most notable characteristics of Travertine is its range of colors and patterns. It is available in a wide range of shades, including beige, cream, ivory, gold, and gray, as well as a variety of vein patterns. These unique colors and patterns make it a popular choice for flooring, walls, countertops, and other applications.

People also choose it for its connection to classic architecture. In addition to its use in major public buildings like the Colosseum and the Parthenon, Travertine was also popular in residential architecture. Villas and other private homes were often constructed using travertine, and it was also used for decorative features like columns, cornices, and moldings.

That said, it can be an expensive material, which is one of the reasons why travertine-look porcelain is in high demand.

Is Travertine a Type of Marble?

Technically speaking, travertine isn’t actually a type of marble. Instead, it’s a type of limestone. That said, travertine shares many similarities with marble, and it is even sometimes referred to as “travertine marble.”

If a homeowner is interested in marble, it is useful to look at some travertine or travertine look tile as well.
